Sumo Digital and Sega have announced that they have delayed Team Sonic Racing with all the title now slated for just a release date of May 21, 2019.
Apparently, Sega is giving the group additional time for you to focus on the cooperative-focused racing title. Sega has apologized for any delay but states that quality ‘s what matters most for just a game exactly like it. Here’s the complete statement from Sega in regards to the pushback (via IGN):
“Team Sonic Racing could be the ultimate mix of arcade and fast-paced competitive style racing, featuring your best characters and environments from throughout the Sonic Universe. To deliver the best experience to fans, SEGA will delay the launch from the title.
During this extra time, SEGA and Sumo Digital continue to hone the title to increase you experience to make certain Team Sonic Racing provides the best gameplay experience possible.
We be aware that many fans were awaiting a Winter release and apologize for just about any inconvenience caused. We’re positive that with this a longer period our teams assures that delivering a wonderful experience that fans can begin to play for some time. Team Sonic Racing is now set to be sold on May 21, 2019.”
Team Sonic Racing was originally scheduled to discharge sometime this winter but a concrete release date was never confirmed. The racer will launch on Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC later pick up.
